What's it about?
Heide Breuer draws her inspiration from a seemingly inexhaustible reservoir - the earth. The diversity of its manifestations is reflected in her works. The eruptive power of nature is expressed in many of her objects. The focus of her work is not limited to this all-encompassing theme alone; one of her cycles features women, whose archaic form connects with myths. The aspect of dignity and respect that she bestows upon her figures is of great importance to her. The passion to clothe the experienced, the felt, in a new face gives her work a deeper meaning.Heide Breuer: born in Baden bei Wien, trained as a teacher, lived for many years in Brussels and Pforzheim, studied ceramics, established her own workshop in Vienna (1977). Since then, numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, participation in symposia, Biennale in Dakar, member of the Wiener Künstlerhaus from 1988 to 2017
