Historical interest is not even necessary to find this place breathtaking. The Wappensaal (Hall of Coats of Arms) in the Klagenfurt Landhaus is a large ballroom with artfully painted walls. Here you feel truly sublime and can hardly stop marveling at the countless family coats of arms and their impressive history. The Fürstenstein (Prince's Stone) is the most important historical symbol of the area between Carinthia and Slovenia, as for centuries the princes of Carinthia were installed upon it in both national languages – German and Slovenian. With 665 coats of arms of the Carinthian estates, the most famous Carinthian Baroque painter Josef Ferdinand Fromiller embellished the imposing room, thus creating a pictorial memory of just as many princes and noble houses through their insignia.
