Japan Creative Festival

What's it about?

Bad Aussee meets Japanese art and lifestyle. The 'Austro-Japanese' hosting couple Gerhard Paradeiser and Juni Vojorna invite to the first 'Japan Creative Festival' at Podenhaus, which makes Japanese culture accessible to house guests, locals, and visitors of the Ausseerland Salzkammergut. Weekly changing art exhibitions in Juni Vojorna's studio are dedicated to ceramics, kimono, paper cutting, and Japanese calligraphy. For those interested, Juni offers a cork coaster painting workshop where imaginative worlds are created on cork boards and other materials. In the Japanese Café, you can taste typical teas, sweets, and traditional matcha daily. By reservation, Juni and Gerhard Paradeiser serve a typical Japanese breakfast with rice, miso soup, grilled fish, or toasted seaweed. As a highlight, there will be live performances by Masato Shibata, an award-winning Tsugaru Shamisen player, on two evenings.
