Shortly thereafter, they learn that Moth is suffering from a fatal illness. Instead of giving up, they embark on an extraordinary journey: on foot, they follow the more than 1,000-kilometer-long South West Coast Path along the rugged coast of England. With little more than a tent and the essentials, they face wind, weather, and existential worries. The coastal trail known as the Salt Path was once a popular route for coast guards looking out for smugglers in the bays and river estuaries. For Raynor and Moth, the year-long hike becomes a journey where they experience unexpected kindness, find solace in nature, and discover their own resilience. Between steep cliffs and vast landscapes, the depth of their relationship is also tested.
