What's it about?
In the eighth year of the ongoing circumnavigation project, the 100,000-kilometer mark has been reached. Much longer, much further, and overall much more has happened than ever expected — significantly more. The protagonists of the project, the over 35-year-old Pinzgauer vehicle and Friedl Swoboda from Salzburg, maintain a close friendship, and both can share a lot about this long, shared journey. Heights and lows under very different conditions in various countries have created an autonomous, nearly perfect duo. Many experiences have become insights and ultimately knowledge through repeated encounters, which the long-term traveler now recounts in hindsight. It is also clear that the perspective on past events changes noticeably over time. A significant milestone has now been reached, but before that, many other stations were passed, not only physically or geographically, but also the traveler's soul has matured and developed further. Friedl's stories and those of his 'desert fox' are not a list of sightseeing stops, but an almost randomly chosen path, often emotionally charged, leaving its marks on both man and machine with quite different highlights. The journey project is moving forward, and barely a third remains, with hope that new adventures will be added and that the journey will continue in an ongoing, unending manner.
