Leo Mayr Mann beißt Hund: Lindwürmer in the Age of the Anthropocene Plus: Gunther Damisch Opening: Friday, September 25, 2026 – 7 PM Exhibition duration: September 26 – November 2026 The Lindwurm (serpent or dragon) as an allegory for the untamable, threatening nature is no longer the villain. The heroes of the past have become the villains of today. "Just as Georges, Siegfrieds, and Tristans merrily battle through art history, today it is old, white, bald, and in some cases orange men who are causing trouble. The greats are just as interesting as the small fish." Based on the Klagenfurt Lindwurm legend, the exhibition takes us on an unusual journey through the depths of anthropocentric macho fantasies of power, their real and pop-cultural expressions in late capitalism, framed by rebellious humor and apocalyptic romance.
