It, which has long been stored in the depot and is the second-largest collection in Austria, is being presented to the public for the first time in a comprehensive academic and didactic overview. The focus is on the particularly representative objects that are insightful for understanding the collection, as well as on the history of the collection and its collectors themselves. Most of the Klagenfurt Egyptian collection was assembled in the mid-19th century by four diplomats or major industrialists associated with the History Association for Carinthia during their travels to Egypt.
