What's it about?
Nick Steed, influenced by his father and his record collection, began playing keyboard at the age of 7. By the age of eleven, he was already entertaining guests in his parents' pub with his playing and at 15, he joined a local blues band in his hometown of Stockport.Over the following years, he played in various band projects and also worked intensively in the studio, which eventually paid off to the extent that he performed over 300 gigs a year. From 2013, he performed with his own blues band, a quartet that included Paul Burgess on drums, who in turn had achieved some success with 10CC. At one of the gigs, Norman Beaker saw him and offered Nick a job in his band, which subsequently toured with well-known artists such as American blues legend Larry Garner and Chris Farlowe. In the meantime, the members of the legendary prog-jazz-rock band Colosseum also noticed Nick, which ultimately landed him the job as keyboardist for this great band, with whom he still regularly tours and is currently working on a new album. In addition, Nick continues to be involved in various other projects, be it with his jazz-fusion band Optimystic Visionaries, his power-blues trio, or as a solo artist.
