Steirisches Feuerwehrmuseum

In Groß St. Florian, district of Deutschlandsberg, is the Styrian Fire Brigade Museum. It is dedicated to the exciting topics of fire, fire fighting, and art inspired by and created through fire. The main museum is located on the first floor, which is accessible by elevator. On the ground floor, there are regularly changing special exhibitions. Access to the museum is barrier-free via a ramp. Discounted admission is available for people with disabilities, and personal assistance can enter the museum free of charge. There are also price reductions for families with children. Upon prior registration, the friendly and helpful staff of the Fire Brigade Museum also offer guided tours, including for people with learning difficulties or specifically for children. A sign language interpreter is also available upon request. For those who prefer to explore at their own pace, there are so-called "Speech Codes" available for borrowing. These are tablets with a special program that provides audible or readable information about the exhibits. You can also use your own smartphone—simply download a free app—and start exploring!
