Wanderweg Stainz

The Stainz-Reinischkogel hiking trail is a four-kilometer circular route that should take about an hour to complete. The starting point is the office of the tourism association at Rathausplatz 4 in Stainz. Here, visitors can also obtain information about other hiking trails in the region. The office is accessible via a ramp that meets the standard five percent incline. There is also a publicly accessible barrier-free toilet available. Directly in front of the tourism office, there is a single barrier-free parking space. Additional parking options are available at the main square and in Lastenstraße. However, parking at the main square is limited to 90 minutes (remember to set the parking meter!). The parking lot in Lastenstraße is larger. The trail runs through the residential area of Stainz, offering views of the impressive Schloss Stainz castle. It crosses the old school and church path, passes through apple and pear orchards, and crosses the Stainzbach stream. Continuing, it passes the monument of Archduke Johann, who was mayor of Stainz in 1850. Near the last quarter of the route, there is a snack station with a table and bench for self-packed snacks or a café called Zum Venezianer. Further information can be obtained by calling 0664 10 40 462. The trail mostly runs on asphalt, making it easily drivable. There are sections with firm gravel paths that are also accessible with a wheelchair. However, some short sections have inclines of up to 15 percent, which may require assistance. An alternative route designed for bad weather is available to facilitate crossing difficult sections in wet conditions.
