What's it about?

Wurst, faith, and club wars: The hit play "Extrawurst" in Oberperfuss. bühne.oberperfuss presents one of the most successful comedies currently on stage. The authors Dietmar Jacobs and Moritz Netenjakob are among the best in satirical social analysis. What begins as a harmless members' meeting of a tennis club escalates due to the purchase of a new grill into a highly explosive debate about tolerance, prejudices, and the Austrian club spirit. Under the direction of Thomas Kuen, the Peter-Anich-Haus transforms into a lively playing field where the punchlines fly back and forth like in a tennis doubles match, taking the breath away from the audience. Interview with director Thomas Kuen: Question: Thomas, "Extrawurst" by Dietmar Jacobs and Moritz Netenjakob is a huge audience favorite. What motivated you to bring this comedy to Oberperfuss, and what can the audience especially look forward to? Thomas: "Extrawurst" reflects our society on a small scale. Anyone who has been to a club meeting knows how quickly small issues turn into fundamental disputes. I was intrigued by how the play shows the limits of our supposed tolerance with incredible wit. The audience can look forward to an extremely pointed, fast-paced production where you often catch yourself. "We are playing right in the middle of the hot court – it will be a damn intense exchange!"
