Exhibition: Gifted, Purchased, Borrowed

What's it about?

The objects in our museum collection are diverse. They include acquisitions, donations, and long-term loans. Some have already been displayed in exhibitions, others not yet, and are stored in the depot. Especially valuable art treasures are stored alongside everyday objects. All together, they form our cultural heritage. The exhibition shows a colorful cross-section of the collection. It offers a look behind the depot walls, at the creation of the collection and the work involved. Through donations or estates, even less well-preserved items find their way into the museum. Restoration measures are costly and not always feasible. Therefore, you will also see some unrestored objects in our exhibition. And our newest addition is also on display – the collection of the former Gertraud Lener Hairdressing Museum, which features various exhibits from the collection. Opening hours: Friday 2-5 pm, Saturday and Sunday 10 am - 5 pm.
