Stadtmuseum Hall

The collection of the Hall City Museum comprises numerous exhibits on the history of the city. Of art-historical importance are primarily the showpieces from the Waldauf collection (such as the two altar panels from the altar of the Waldauf Chapel in the Hall parish church, attributed to Marx Reichlich, a student of Pacher) and from Hall's Baroque past (Damenstift and Jesuit Church). Numerous city views document the historical significance and the changing times in Hall.The City Museum was housed by the museum association "Alt-Hall" since 1933 in what is now the Rathauscafé on Oberer Stadtplatz. In the 1960s, it was re-established, among others, by Hofrat Dr. Hans Hochenegg. Under the direction of cultural officer Dr. Leopold Wagner and art historian Dr. Henry Quintern, the museum moved to Burg Hasegg between 1977 and 1979.As part of the Interreg project REVITA (with the partner city Klausen), new premises for the City Museum in Burg Hasegg were converted, renovated, and restored from 2010 to 2013.The premises are used for the current temporary exhibitions and events of the City Museum. The implementation of the overall concept for expanding the cultural use of Burg Hasegg is not yet complete.The museum is barrier-free accessible.
