Vernissage Ausstellung „fading fields. Ländliche Visionen zwischen Vorstellungsk

What's it about?

Courage to write history – from history to HERstory. Gmunden plays a special role in the program of communale oö 2026: the transition from history to HERstory. Women are deliberately reinterpreted from the 'blind spot' of male-dominated historiography, bringing their deeds, experiences, and contributions into focus – aspects often missing or still missing in traditional accounts. Exhibition „fading fields.“ In 1996, students of an agricultural school were asked during a writing workshop to imagine what agriculture might look like in 2025. Thirty years later, photographer Daniela Köppl, who was part of that class, reunites with her schoolmates. She portraits them, reads their youth texts aloud, and documents what has become of them. In 2026, their children will write a new chapter: Rural Visions 2055. The result is a cross-generational reflection on continuity and change.
