Lecture "The Fight for the Plot"

What's it about?

Franz and Hannes Schneeberger shaped the image of East Tyrol through their photographs from the 1920s to the 1940s. The lecture explores their photographic work, the widely circulated postcard series "The Fight for the Plot," and the interconnections between homeland photography, contemporary history, and ideology. Using evaluated private archives of the family and additional collections from the TAP, the photographs and biographies of Franz and Hannes Schneeberger offer new perspectives on East Tyrol and Austria during a contested period. Lecture by Dr. Martin Kofler, Director of the Tyrolean Photo Archive (TAP). Voluntary donations requested.
