
In 2026, the Gmünd Gallery will be curated by architect and artist Thomas Scherzer. 1 May to 27 September 2026 daily from 10 AM - 1 PM and 3 PM - 6 PM The interactive installations, sculptures, and design objects by artist and architect Thomas Scherzer invite visitors to actively experience space. At the center is a new work developed specifically for Gmünd – created with Willem van Engen and Travis Dent: Fourteen fern-like elements react to the proximity and movements of visitors, opening and closing and continuously reshaping the space. Those who enter become part of a living system that makes questions of access, control, and belonging immediately tangible. The exhibition is complemented by the interactive flower landscape “Blumenveld,” the kinetic sculpture “Rollin’,” and the inflatable installation “Rolrups” – a playful invitation to experience art with all senses.
