Course instructor: Gabriella BuzziCourse times: Mon, August 3 to Fri, August 7, 2026, Mon, 10 am to 5 pm, Tue to Thu, 9 am to 5 pm, Fri, 9 am to 12 pm In this five-day seminar – a proven classic of the Gmünd Summer Academy – Gabriella Buzzi, master of the renowned Mosaic School of Spilimbergo (Italy), will teach the traditional laying technique of the "High School of Spilimbergo" as well as modern styles with colorful glass tesserae. Classic materials such as marble and glass are available, as well as the appropriate tools (e.g., hammer and anvil). At the end, a finished mosaic with a maximum size of 40 x 40 cm will be created, which can be taken home. The course is aimed at beginners as well as advanced students. Supervision is provided with the support of a skilled interpreter. Warm clothing is recommended as work will be done in a cooler room.
