Farbwelten & Elemente Intuitive Painting with Acrylic and Chalks

What's it about?

Instructor: Theresa Beitl Course dates: Friday, August 20, 2027, 4-7 PM; Saturday and Sunday, August 21-22, 2027, 10 AM to 5 PM In this three-day course, participants combine free painting with the wisdom of Chinese Five Elements theory. Acrylic paints and chalks are used as tools to playfully and experimentally explore the worlds of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each day of the course is dedicated to one or more elements and their characteristic colors, shapes, qualities of movement, and moods. A brief introduction and gentle Qigong practice provide access to the respective element quality, which is then artistically expressed on the canvas — sometimes flowing and soft like water, sometimes radiant and powerful like fire, or clear and structured like metal. Through experimenting with different application techniques in acrylic and the interplay with chalks, individual expressions emerge. Short, gentle Qigong exercises are integrated between painting sessions.
