What's it about?

Instructor: Marion Pass Course dates: Friday, August 6 to Sunday, August 8, 2027, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day In this course, the canvas is initially prepared either monochromatically, multicolored, or abstractly, using acrylic paints or gesso. Afterwards, a motif is incorporated either realistically into the monochromatic background or into the abstract landscape. Based on a photo, the image or just parts of it are transferred onto the canvas, primed, and built up layer by layer with acrylic paints—modeled. The specific details are carefully developed with black and white, and then the piece can be further colored if desired, but it is not necessary. The contrast between a black or colorful background and a black-and-white motif also has its appeal. The course combines theory and practice: techniques are clearly explained and demonstrated before participants create their own works. Through a playful approach, atmospheric, individual images with personal touch are created.
