Experience the unique and traditional Heiligenbluter Sternsingen! At 4:00 PM, the sending ceremony of the Heiligenbluter Sternsinger takes place at the parish church of Heiligenblut. With the light blessed by the parish priest, the candles in the lanterns of the Sternsinger are lit. The nine Sternsinger groups (each consisting of a star bearer, five musicians, and ten singers) then go from house to house singing their traditional Sternsinger songs, to deliver the message of Christ's birth and good wishes for a blessed new year to all residents. Let yourself be enchanted by the magic of this centuries-old tradition — which was recognized as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2010.
