Guided Tour "Historical Monastery Garden Complex" Maria Luggau

What's it about?

The historic monastery garden in Maria Luggau has been redesigned according to conservation guidelines and is planted based on the principles of Traditional European Medicine (TEM). The garden combines historic garden architecture with medicinal plant culture. During the approximately one-hour guided tour, topics include aspects of garden history as well as monastery medicine and Traditional European Medicine. Using the plants of the garden, we draw a medicinal history arc—from Hippocrates, through Hildegard of Bingen, to the present.
