Welcome to the website of the Parish of Maria Luggau! Maria Luggau is considered one of Austria's most famous pilgrimage sites. The origins of the pilgrimage date back to 1513, when the Mother of God instructed the farmer Helena in a dream to build a church. More about the history (click here) Since then, thousands of pilgrims have journeyed annually to the Sorrowful Mother in the Basilica.
