The old shop on the border in Thörl-Maglern. At the Greißlermuseum you can experience how people shopped in great-grandmother's time, and next door there are themed exhibitions all about the beautiful Gailtal traditional costume. The old iron sign in front of the door alone, with the inscription "Spezerei und Colonialwaren" (Spices and Colonial Goods), hints at a long-gone past. In the shop, which is now a museum, the scent of open spices still wafts through the room, and a bygone era surrounds visitors. Diana Erat, the current owner who is making the house accessible to the public again, gladly tells stories of the merchants of the house who came from Carnia 200 years ago and bought the shop building. Oil and sugar were still filled into bottles and paper bags brought by customers, seeds and spices were offered openly, and coffee, candle wicks, and goods of all kinds were available for purchase in this house for over 200 years.
