eXtrachello
What's it about?
Gudula Urban, Melissa Coleman, Margarethe Herbert, Edda Breit In March 2020, there was minutes of applause for four female musicians in the sold-out Bamberg Hall, who brought the stage to vibrate with pure energy – eXtrachello has been igniting a universe of sound for years, which is rarely experienced in this way. With a wide stylistic range and a distinctive musical signature, the four exceptional musicians break out of every box into which one might want to place them. Their program resembles a colorful mosaic of Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Avant-garde, well-known pieces, and new compositions. This extraordinary mix guarantees a varied, demanding, and at the same time highly entertaining concert experience. The repertoire is created from the musicians' diverse musical experiences, which they adapt their pieces with creativity, courage, and a spirit of experimentation for the ensemble. Notably, the eXtra-Extra format features Gudula Urban with her warm, expressive voice presenting original songs as well as newly arranged jazz and pop standards – a true fireworks display of sound colors and emotions.
