The raising of the famous Gothic Lenten veil from 1458 during the Ash Wednesday liturgy is the highlight of the Lenten season in Carinthia. The Gurk Lenten veil is one of the most important European medieval art relics. The work by Master Konrad from Friesach is also the largest and oldest Lenten veil in Carinthia.
