The Diocesan Museum of the Catholic Church of Carinthia presents precious sacred art objects from the Diocese of Gurk, ranging from Romanesque to Baroque, in its exhibition rooms. On display are remarkable liturgical vestments and implements, works of glass and panel painting, sculptures and figures, as well as devotional objects and votive offerings of various motifs and themes.Special attractions of the museum include the Magdalene Disc from Weitensfeld (c. 1170), the Crucifix from Höllein (c. 1180), the Gurk Portable Altar (13th century), Madonna statues (1st half of 13th to 1st quarter of 16th century) and saint sculptures (2nd half of 14th century to mid-18th century), as well as objects of Hemma veneration and popular piety from the Baroque period.Information & RegistrationGurk AbbeyDomplatz 119342 GurkT: +43 4266 8236-12F: +43 42668236-16M: dom.info@dom-zu-gurk.at
