Performers Marlene Förstel Violoncello Michael Schwarzenbacher Accordion Two instruments you rarely hear together: the warm, lyrical cello and the breathing accordion. In "Syncopair", Marlene Förstel and Michael Schwarzenbacher engage in a dialogue between Piazzolla's Tango, de Falla's Spanish passion, and Stravinsky's Tarantella. Sometimes southern temperament blazes, sometimes quiet melancholy unfolds, sometimes syncopated rhythm drives the two forward. Duo Klangtreff – scholarship holders of Jeunesses Musicales – weaves familiar pieces with contemporary grooves by Galliano and Bartolomey into an evening full of timbres.
