Nikolausfahrt with the Wälderbähnle 2026
What's it about?
One of the absolute highlights of the Wälderbähnle year are the Nikolaus rides. They are always a fascinating experience for children and adults, and for many families, it is a fixed point in the Advent season to experience the Nikolaus festival with the children on the Wälderbähnle. From late November until December 13, the 'Wälderbähnle - Nikolaus' is back in operation. The Nikolaus ride starts at the festively decorated Bezau station, and if Frau Holle is kind to us, the train will set off through the snowy winter landscape towards Schwarzenberg. Halfway, the locomotive stops — Nikolaus appears mysteriously from the forest and boards the train with the children. Poems are hurriedly recited and songs sung, as the Wälderbähnle soon reaches Schwarzenberg station. There, visitors have the opportunity to buy a small snack or a drink until the locomotive switches back to the train's starting point. The Nikolaus, sitting in his carriage, takes time for each child at the station for a meeting and a photo before returning to Bezau with the museum train. We recommend arriving early to find a parking space without stress despite the anticipation and to take a seat in the reserved carriage. Perhaps you can also enjoy a mulled wine or a children's punch at Bezau station beforehand.
