In poetisch, radikal, Cornelia Caufmann explores freedom as an artistic practice in the interplay of image and sign. Independent of formal and linguistic norms, she understands her gestural calligraphic painting as a processual event. The exhibition unites works on paper, canvas, and gold ground, created at the intersection between acoustic impulse and painterly expression. Complementing the show, the live performance Signal to Noise takes place in a dialogical exchange of sound and painting - with composer Karlheinz Essl on synthesizer and Cornelia Caufmann.
