
Long Story Short is an idiom that deliberately shortens a narrative. Complex experiences are condensed, unnecessary details are omitted, and the focus is placed on the essential. Building on this approach of reduction, the exhibition at Kunstverein Kärnten brings together nine international artists whose works take up everyday observations and found objects. Seemingly incidental moments are not documented, but rather deliberately shifted and alienated. Through such interventions, new interpretations of the familiar emerge: from small observations, hints of larger narratives develop. The artists work with painting, sculpture, and sound, using the respective medial inherent logics to modify perception and shift meanings.
