
Between Olympus and the Underworld: One marriage, many demands! The marriage of Orpheus and Eurydice is over: Eurydice is bored to death at home, while the rather untalented violinist Orpheus gropes his female students. Eurydice takes an interest in the virile Aristeus, who, however, turns out to be Pluto, ruler of the Underworld. He takes her with him to his dark realm. Orpheus remains jubilant about his wife's departure. But he has not reckoned with Public Opinion, which appears and, in the interest of bourgeois decency, calls on Orpheus to go to Olympus and assert his claim to the return of his wife before the gods. When the New Public Opinion also appears and asks what Eurydice actually has to say about all this, order in both the heavens and the underworld is lost. Old claims of ownership enter into a competitive struggle with the new circumstances - a conflict that finally...
