From the main square in Neuhaus am Klausenbach, you hike into the Romischek vineyard, where the Old Border (once Austria-Hungary) begins. Since 1921, boundary stones from the time of Maria Theresia have marked the border from Styria to Burgenland. The Tschartake, the watchtower, served from 1672 to 1711 for defense against the Kuruc.The path continues to the Galgenkreuz, a former execution site of the Neuhaus dominion. Via the Straussenhof Donner, you reach Tabor Castle, the oldest building in the Jennersdorf district.The path leads past the Mühlgraben Fairy Tale Forest back to Neuhaus. Here it goes uphill to the castle ruins, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of Styria and Slovenia.
