Kobrakasino
What's it about?
A gaze that sees through everything — through the screen, through the person opposite, through the day itself. Against it, a gaze that looks inward — a thousand years deep. The exhaustion that sees nothing anymore, versus the intensity that wants to see everything. Kobrakasino, with their second studio album, make a wish to the conscious mind. A wish to look closely and not let the gaze wander anymore. The stories in which Kobrakasino package this wish are familiar. They move somewhere between performance pressure and longing — longing for genuine moments and for someone who reciprocates the gaze. But everyday life often does not allow this. It poisons, captures, and the exhaustion runs deep — so deep that it is no longer visible from the outside. Kobrakasino confront this exhaustion. Their rebellion begins in a bathrobe and takes shape in everyday disobedience. They resist complacency and counter with lively hooks and dreamy melodies. The Vienna-based trio draws on NDW nostalgia and decorates the scene with modern pop romance. Raw and catchy, fragmentary and direct. Rock arrangements, like in "Zentrale" or "Das Herz von meinem Chef (tut schon so weh)," meet songs with vibey, club-ready energy, like "Keep it cool." Dreamed melodies meet lyrics that are too close to remain abstract. Kobrakasino release their second studio album "Alarm für Kobrakasino" on their own label Sirene Records.
