Open Museum Day

What's it about?

For the 23rd time, on October 26, 2026, museums in Burgenland will hold an 'Open House Day'. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM — unless another time is specified — all participating museums can be visited free of charge. Friedensburg Schlaining, Rochusplatz 1, 7461 Stadtschlaining, open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM! Permanent exhibitions include: Castle history – the history of Friedensburg Schlaining; Burgenland from 1921 – a region tells its story; 80 years of the Red Cross in Burgenland; Schlaining and Peace – an interactive exhibition on peace and democracy. Special exhibitions include: Dark Times. From Perpetrators and Righteous, and Blech mit Herz (Sheet Metal with Heart); guided tour at 11:00 AM. In the former synagogue: guided tours at 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM on the topic of Traces of Jewish Life. Bergbaumuseum Goberling, Goberling 118, 7461. The museum displays the history of mining, the work of miners, the value and smelting of antimony, as well as occupational diseases and geology.
