Two outstanding stars of Jewish music perform together: Shmuel Barzilai, Oberkantor of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Wien (Vienna Jewish Community), is at home on the world's great stages. His repertoire ranges from cantor liturgical music, Hasidic and Klezmer melodies to Israeli songs and classical vocal literature. At his side on the piano is Elias Meiri, a jazz pianist with an equally impressive international career. He is a member of renowned ensembles and a long-time musical partner of Timna Brauer. The program features Jewish, cantorial, Israeli, and popular music, always with plenty of room for improvisation, joy of playing, and surprising musical encounters.
