What's it about?

Experience Austria's only steppe national park with its cultural landscape, created by humans over centuries, which is home to an incredible diversity of plants and animals. The mosaic of water and meadow areas is distantly reminiscent of the grasslands of Africa and Asia, but the preservation of this valuable habitat requires constant management. Even today, herds of cattle are used to keep the areas open and largely treeless through grazing and trampling.
