Giuseppe Verdi: LA TRAVIATA

What's it about?

Following the great success of the concert performances of La Traviata in summer 2025, the Tiroler Festspiele Erl are now staging Giuseppe Verdi's opera as a full production. In four performances, the moving fate of the courtesan Violetta Valéry is retold. The production is directed by the internationally renowned director Mariame Clément, who has an impressive career between Berlin and Salzburg. For her staging, she focuses not only on the tragic love story between Violetta and Alfredo but also on the social structures that shape the lives of the characters. Violetta's failure thus appears not only as a private tragedy but also as a mirror of a society whose morals leave no room for her freedom and her love.
