What's it about?
Cabaret about religion and church can be a hell of a lot of fun. Lainer & Aigner have already proven this with "Ich bin der Weinstock, ihr seid die Flaschen" and "Aktion Schaf". They have not only conquered cabaret stages but also parish halls. Even some clergy (with or without a girlfriend) enjoyed it. They focus mainly on practice: whether someone believes in one God, many gods, or none — what matters is the effort to be a friendly, helpful person. The poor dog doesn't care if the rescuer in distress calls his God Allah, Yahweh, Huitzilopochtli, or none at all. The main thing is that help is given. The real problem are those who constantly spout pious sayings to elevate themselves. Like the swarm of evangelical, filthy-rich TV preachers who roll their eyes in delight in front of live cameras to lay hands on the horror clown in the White House. Thus, "z’fleiß katholisch" is sometimes a "goscherter" (roughly: rough-edged), but mostly a loving retrospective of a homogeneous Catholic culture that no longer exists today. A kind of "Best of Church Cabaret" with old and new scenes and many songs, an evening full of heavenly punchlines, sinful satire, and heretical comedy. At the same time, it is also a call for a courageous new beginning, because no better thing than love has been invented yet. The sacrament of humor can be a great help in this — always on the way towards heaven!
