Gedenken Stolpersteine für Steyr

What's it about?

The initiative "Stolpersteine für Steyr" (Stolpersteine for Steyr) commemorates people from Steyr who were persecuted, displaced, or murdered during National Socialism with five new Stolpersteine (stumbling blocks). During a public memorial ceremony, Stolpersteine will be laid for Marie Garde, Julius and Hedwig Stössl, Rosa Eisler, and Margarete Füreder. The Stolpersteine mark the last voluntarily chosen residences of the victims and make their stories visible in the cityscape. Stolpersteine stand for remembrance, responsibility, and engagement with local history. They bring the names of the victims back into the everyday life of the city and serve as a sign against forgetting.
