"Venice feels not only like a city but like an idea, a character of its own" – says cellist Anastasia Kobekina. The prizewinner of international competitions, who has performed as a soloist with numerous world-renowned orchestras, references the special city in each piece together with the Kammerorchester Basel. From baroque to contemporary sounds, she crosses every stylistic boundary and captures the elegance and vitality of Venice, where Tomaso Albinoni, Antonio Vivaldi, Antonio Sartorio, and Barbara Strozzi were born around 400 years ago. Caroline Shaw's work "Limestone" refers to the limestone used in the magnificent buildings, and the proximity to the sea will also be audible during the evening. Additionally, Anastasia Kobekina will present an encore composed specifically for her, which was selected through the ABPU composition competition. We are curious to see how this piece will blend into the atmosphere of Venice...
