"The first skyscraper", observatory and museum at the same time, was built between 1748-59. The clergyman of that time wanted to "get to know his God from his works through research and study". With its strict facade structure, the building indicates a clear, internal order. 1st floor: Geology and Paleontology, 2nd floor: Mineralogy, 3rd floor: Physics, 4th floor: since 1880 Zoology and Botany, previously painting gallery, 5th floor: Anthropology, 6th floor: Astronomy, 7th floor: Chapel and viewing terrace. You can only visit the observatory as part of a guided tour; personal contact with our guests is important to us. A guided tour lasts approx. 90 minutes, special tours are possible upon request. Tours in English are possible upon request. The observatory is only accessible in the summer half-year from May to the end of October. The baroque building of the observatory is unfortunately not barrier-free; there is no lift.
