Far from the Advent market idyll and Christmas tree clichés, ALMA has developed a program that is nonetheless dedicated to the quiet season. Because it comes from silence and leads into silence — inward, so to speak. Nowadays, higher-faster-louder has almost become a norm, which we have largely gotten used to or are increasingly adapting to. So why not recalibrate the entire organism for a few weeks a year, reduce tension? 415Hz. ALMA sets a counterpoint to our 'high-pitched' time with this special program. They researched unheard songs in folk song archives and drew inspiration from contemporary music as well as old sound aesthetics. They composed and arranged, creating a bridge that aims to counteract everyday tensions. C H E R U B I M is not an ordinary Christmas program; it is an invitation into silence. Welcome! "These musical creations celebrate something that we cannot even grasp at the moment of listening. This 'old' musical knowledge in the shaping hands of such young musicians is something special. This music goes deeper, stays longer in our ears and nerve pathways, and makes many other things forget."
