Hirschlos´n - Deer Rut in the National Park

What's it about?

In the Kalkalpen National Park, red deer live freely all year round. Autumn is mating season - then powerful calls echo through the mountain forests at dusk. The stags now seek the proximity of the female animals and compete with their rivals. Accompanied by a National Park Ranger, you will experience the loud natural spectacle of the deer rut.Meeting point: Scheiblingau car park (approx. 20 km from Molln towards Breitenau)Time & Duration: 4:00 PM to 8:30 PMDuration approx. 4-5 hours (pure walking time 2 ½ hours, slight incline on forest road)Ranger: Eric MitterhauserInfo: Suitable for children aged 8 and over.
