UN#HEARD, this Bruckner!

What's it about?

Anton Bruckner (1824 to 1896) irritated his contemporaries and remains a mystery to this day, around which interpretations and anecdotes entwine. In Steyr, he found "coolness and calm" for composing and forged close friendships. The exhibition "UN#ERHÖRT, dieser Bruckner!" at the Steyr City Museum invites visitors to follow Bruckner's traces in Steyr and get to know his acquaintances. The curators show how Bruckner's quest for recognition was #HEARD and how he has always been celebrated in Steyr. Visitors encounter the composer and #HEAR works by the master. Interactive music installations and contemporary compositions transport them into previously unknown sound worlds. The exhibition traces the person Anton Bruckner in Steyr and tells UN#HEARD stories.
