Barbara Blaha - Funkenschwestern
What's it about?
Barbara Blaha knows what she's talking about. Growing up as a child of a working-class family with many siblings but little money, she is familiar with the feeling of being overlooked. Her previous stage programs have been an overwhelming success: thousands have seen her, and every performance was sold out. In her new program Funkenschwestern and the book of the same name, she combines personal stories with numbers, facts, and studies, showing why economic issues are also feminist issues. She makes visible why women are less often allowed to lead, are interrupted more frequently, and are paid less. She points out that in industries with a high proportion of women, wages decrease, and even a full-time job does not protect against the second unpaid shift at home.
