ABOUT KAMRAN GHADERI: The Austrian-Iranian businessman was arrested in January 2016 during a trip to visit his family at Tehran airport. This was followed by solitary confinement, a grossly unfair trial, and years of uncertainty – until his release in June 2023 as part of an international prisoner exchange. In his book "Iranian Hostage Diplomacy: 2707 Days in Evin Prison," he documents what happens behind the regime's walls – and how people become bargaining chips between states. His case occupied Austrian diplomacy and media from ORF to profil for years. Today, Ghaderi publicly advocates for freedom rights and political prisoners.
