What's it about?

8 Years of Captivity in Tehran - The Austrian Kamran Ghaderi Tells His Story September 17, 2026 Doors: 6:30 PM Start: 7:00 PM 📖 2707 days. Almost eight years. That's how long Kamran Ghaderi was held as a political hostage in Tehran's notorious Evin Prison – on September 17, he will tell his story at OKH Vöcklabruck. ABOUT KAMRAN GHADERI: The Austrian-Iranian businessman was arrested in January 2016 during a trip to visit his family at Tehran airport. This was followed by solitary confinement, a grossly unfair trial, and years of uncertainty – until his release in June 2023 as part of an international prisoner exchange. In his book "Iranian Hostage Diplomacy: 2707 Days in Evin Prison," he documents what happens behind the regime's walls – and how people become bargaining chips between states. His case occupied Austrian diplomacy and media from ORF to profil for years. Today, Ghaderi publicly advocates for freedom rights and political prisoners. AN EVENING WITH READING, MUSIC & CONVERSATION: The reading will be accompanied by music. There will also be Iranian specialties, and afterwards, there will be an opportunity to talk with Kamran Ghaderi. The evening is organized by the Amnesty Vöcklabruck group.
