Vanishings
What's it about?
Music theater with works by Leoš Janáček and Thomas Adès. Two composers who engage in dialogue across multiple generations, inspired by a shared musical understanding, an extraordinary language of sound, and a relentless willingness to explore human depths down to the innermost parts of the soul: In Vanishings, a music theater evening is created through the intertwining of works by Leoš Janáček and the British composer Thomas Adès, one of the most versatile composers of our time, which captures the intensity of great emotion in an intimate setting. Where is the line between love, dissolution, and devotion? What happens when love upsets the world? What remains after this fervor? In this intense music theater, not only styles, stories, and sound worlds are woven together, but also facets of love and renunciation. Performed in Czech and Hungarian with surtitles.
