What's it about?
An evening with the International Booker Prize 2025 winner. 12 women against the patriarchy. In her stories, Banu Mushtaq shows everyday female resistance – against the backdrop of an India shaped by classism and corruption. Aashraf is left by her husband because she "only" has daughters. Jamila is to be deprived of her inheritance in the name of religion. Akhila's husband avoids her gaze but blossoms as soon as his mother appears. They are all united in their grief and anger.
