What's it about?
Many people still associate aging with loss, limitation, and decline. Such negative images of aging can influence one's experience of growing older and sometimes act as a self-fulfilling prophecy. The lecture addresses different societal images of aging and theoretical approaches to the topic of aging. At the same time, it shows which inner resources, skills, and development opportunities people possess—often undiscovered or underutilized—to make aging meaningful, active, and fulfilling despite natural biological changes. Aging is understood not only as a process of change and limitations but also as a life phase with potential for personal growth, quality of life, and new perspectives.
