On the Edge 2026 - Dark Glowing
What's it about?
ON THE EDGE - festival for experimental circus art brings extraordinary forms of contemporary circus to Vienna from November 4 to 13, 2026 - at the Theater am Werk in Kabelwerk, at Petersplatz, and in Dschungel Wien. Artists from Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Portugal, and Estonia showcase circus beyond traditional forms - between dance, concert, installation, and performance. Whether hypnotic dance acrobatics in Cécile, dadaist object art in oi+io, queer storytelling in (le/the) Pain, or poetic nonsense in GUGUS!: ON THE EDGE combines personal stories with themes such as gender, parenthood, solidarity, and nonconformity. The festival is complemented by workshops and the international 'take care' conference on mental health in the arts and circus sector. Bold, experimental, and surprising.
